Weekend Special- A night at the dome with Trevor Noah

I had not experienced anything of that magnitude, thousands of people filled up the premises in anticipation to see the son of the soil perform at home after sometime. The atmosphere was electrifying you could sense the excitement from just outside the gates. The build up to the final moment was good, as Comedian Robby Collins , Khanyisa Bunu shared a few jokes  warming us up. We were also treated to a performance by the Super mega himself who did what he does best. The only part I wasn't sure of was the singing nonetheless it was a spot on performance.

20 minutes later, the main man appeared. His very first line mentioning Bonang Mateba and her book dilemma got us in stiches. I knew that he wouldn't let that one slip away. Although the title of the show was ' There's a Gupta on my stoep', he didn't necessarily mention them through out the show which I'm grateful for because its exhausting hearing about them.  I love the fact that he is able to play with his voice, because it helps paint a clear picture of what he is telling us. Especially when he was imitating Donald Trump and his wife, suggesting that they have been showcasing their marital problems to the world, without us really noticing. BUT now that Trevor has mentioned it, its totally true.  The one thing I  appreciate about Trevor is that he is always updated about current affairs happening in SA. The one joke that got me roaring with laughter was when he asked the audience ' What happened to my Juju' referring to his weight loss.

It was an entertaining show throughout, he shared a joke comparing our police to those in the USA. Saying that in South Africa the policemen are more laid back and easy to chat up but in the states it is a total different ball game. sharing that our policemen give you more options such as an opportunity to pay ' cold drink' but in the US that won't happen. He also shared a jokes about women which left me cringing in my seat in a good way, because all that he mentioned was 100 % true, he said that women when in relationships we are ticking bombs, if something happens we  don't address it right there and then but we let it build up inside until a random day comes and we explode.

The highlight of the night for me was when, he spoke about the president Jacob Zuma and his relationship with the notorious Gupta family. He suggested that what if the Guptas were really in his ear, in a form of an earpiece telling the president what to say when he had speeches. The funniest part was when he said ' That probably explains why he speaks so slowly'. The show was amazing, Trevor is a world class comedian who puts more than 100% effort into his shows. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  Out of 5 popcorn I give it 4,5, totally worth it.
