Monday Weekend Wrap Up- Reviewing The Weekend That Was
Weekend + TV is the best combination, well that's if you don't have any plans and aren't painting the town red. So many things happened this past weekend, from SuperSport United being crowned MTN8 champions, Our perfect wedding and to the fantastic performances from Idols. I will be unpacking these.
This week we said goodbye to Christo who was the next contestant to fall off the competition, he will be missed but I am positive that he will have a great career ahead of him. This week contestants were required to choose songs sung by wooden mic contenders, and as expected they did a great job. Mthokozisi took us down memory lane with his rendition of Sisqo's hit ' incomplete'. As per usual he was sensational with his vocals and charming persona, the judges were quite impressed with Randall citing that Mthokozisi is ready and sounds like he has already won. Another contestant that blew me away was 17 year old Paxton who took on Beyoncé's 'listen' and she sure did command our attention and we listened. Her voice is faultless and flawless, she is going very far. The other contestants were also good accept for Phindy who wasn't as impressive, she sounded flat through both the songs she sang. Hopefully she will be able to bounce back next week otherwise she might just have to pack her bags and go. Remember it is quite important that you vote for your favourite in order to sustain them in the competition.
Last night we met Thoko and Vusi who let us into their wedding, and inviting us to witness their union. Like every other week there was a bit of drama, Vusi was a bit of a Casanova. He came back one day and requested to take a second wife, he then impregnated 2 other women and unfortunately he got diagnosed with meningitis and was left blind because of that. But that didn't scare Thoko away in fact the second wife was the one who did a slyza tsotsi. Twitter was a light with comments some going as far as suggesting that if Vusi were to get his eyesight back, Thoko would have to be weary about his actions and whereabouts. However some were on the other fence, saying that Vusi is very blessed to have a wife who is as caring as Thoko because she has stuck with him through all this. Now let me get to the actual wedding. It was a blue and yellow affair, the bridesmaids were looking rather nice in yellow dresses and blue shoes. The brides dress was pretty however I was not particularly sure with the white lacy gloves she had on, she looked a bit overdressed.
I was hopping that the first episode would command my attention but they didn't. Second episode still not caught. I don't know what the problem is, maybe I should give them another chance with the third episode. I am not sure if it is the storyline or what because the cast has been exceptional on previous occasions. Maybe next week will be better or rather improve I hope.

The MTN 8 final took place this past Saturday at Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban. CapeTown City went head to head with SuperSport United to what was expected to be a nail gripping match. CapeTown City were the first to open the score line with a goal from Sibusiso Masina at the 23rd minute. CapeTown City were stronger in the first half with the assistance of Teko Modise who was giving the opposition a hard time. Second 45 Eric Tinkler made a substitution that would turn the game around. Thabo Mnyamane took the game to extra time with his goal which lead to him not being able to continue the game, due to an injury. The game went to penalties where SuperSport United proved that experience is key. Ronwen Williams was the hero of the day making two saves leading them to the victory.
