Monday Weekend Wrap Up- Reviewing the weekend that was

There is never a dull moment in South Africa, there's always something brewing. And this weekend was no different. I have reviewed some of our favourite Sunday shows as well as events that took place  this weekend.

Could Botlhale be the underdog? #IDOLSA

This week saw the charismatic Lindo leave the competition, contestants this week were accompanied by the lovely voices of the Soweto gospel choir. They added much needed volume to the performances. Going to get straight to my favourite performer of the evening, which was Botlhale  he gave the people what they wanted which is passion, he has undoubtedly improved from his audition performance to singing his rendition of 'sedilaka'. He took us to church and showed us why he deserves a place in the top 4 next week. He got ravishing reviews from the judges. The one that stands out is that from Somizi who said that his performance was the best of all Idols seasons. He is a hard working and hungry to get to the top, if he carries on like this he may just take the title home.  I don't know what happened to Mthokozisi this week, he was not the same person he was last week. Especially on the first song I didn't necessarily feel the fire from him, something was missing. However he did try to rectify himself with the second song, singing RKelly's anthem ' Storm is over' that is when I could feel the passion from him. I really want him to pull up his socks because he has the voice he just needs to keep focused . Some of the ladies this week didn't do it for me except Paxton who week in and week out does the damn thing. Something went totally wrong with Faiths performances, she was off tune, off key in act all offs in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if she goes home this coming Sunday. As for Phindi she was okay for me nothing to write home about, she's skating on thin ice in my books.

It goes down in the DM's on this weeks OPW

OPW never disappoints and this week was no different,  meet Betty and Neo who met on social site WeChat. Betty decided to take matters into her own hands and sent Neo an invite and of course Neo accepted the invite. He requested to meet her and indeed that took place after Betty sent him her location. 3 days after dating there they were living together,  15 days later they applied for a house together. Talk about taking things to the next level. It does not end there, she asked for a promise ring, seeing that Neo was not really catching on she decided to go buy herself a ring and asked for her money back from Neo. I'm sure you're probably wondering why you have deleted the APP clearly things happen there. Now let me get to the actual wedding, Betty had more than one dress to wear on the day, I must say they all looked great. Her bridesmaids wore Yellow dresses, the dΓ©cor was on point. Betty truly embraced the saying ' always go for what you want, no matter what'.

The Imposter

I can never watch an episode without being distracted, thinking that this week would be much different and more exciting. I watched and there were some scenes that were worthy  such as the chase between the detective and the criminal. There are some things that are very questionable for me such as how the husband hasn't realised or discovered that the  women he has been sharing a bed with is not his wife. Clearly he doesn't know his wife because there are some smaller things he should be noticing such as habits  only  unique to his wife. Mantwa is so loud I wonder if she can tone down the 'Kasi lingo' a bit because at this point it is sounding a bit forced.  I am willing to give them another episode I'm just waiting for the Climax of the show, where I will be glued to the screen and wish that it played for more than hour.

However the twitter streets had a different opinion to mine, here are some of the reactions to last nights episode.

Which policeman attacks alone. Doesn’t bother calling backup instead calls his suspended partner. Respect Us please. Rubbish

Protea Fire reignited again

The Proteas have achieved a white wash over Bangladesh this past weekend, with a comfortable 200- run victory. They have won the ODI series 3-0. In doing so they have created history, with this 10 wicket win it is the highest total chased down in ODI history without losing a wicket. Many fans were left frustrated during the series due to the lack of competitiveness from the visitors, they didn't necessarily bring their A game. However Congratulations to the boys nonetheless.

SuperSport United through to the final of the Caf Confed Cup

Score: Club Africain 1- 3 SuperSport United  ( 2-4) Agg

Bradley Grobler opened the score line, which lead to the rain of goals as SuperSport United faced off with Club Africain . They are the first club to beat Club Africain at home in a CAF game in 8 years. They will face TP Mazembe in the final, the first leg will take place in the DRC and SuperSport  will be looking to take advantage of the second leg at home with the support of the 12th man.

This weekend has been as eventful as the last, looking forward to the next. And to end it off here is my best dressed for the weekend. Masechaba Ndlovu in a Khosi Nkosi dress looking exquisite.
